#SELFCARESATURDAY

Self-care is such an important thing to prioritize in life for all around well-being, and I'm making a commitment to do just that.  Whether you struggle with mental illness as I have and continue to, are an activist experiencing burnout, or just want to take care of yourself, I hope this series can inspire you to put yourself first.

EPISODE ONE: MY MENTAL HEALTH STORY

Welcome to episode one of the #SELFCARESATURDAY series!

This week I share my mental health story with you and let you know why it's so important to educate yourself at the start of your self-care journey.

Don't forget to download the free workbook to go along with the videos!

EPISODE TWO: SLEEP

Sleep is the time for our bodies and minds to recover from our stressful lives.  Lack of sleep or poor quality sleep can worsen the symptoms of depression and anxiety, and even be a factor in developing them in the first place.

Let's look at ten ways to improve our sleep and show ourselves some much-needed TLC!

EPISODE THREE: SURVIVING THE HOLIDAYS

The holidays can be really tough.  Let's get into my 24 tips for surviving the holiday season, no matter what gets thrown at you!

EPISODE FOUR: NUTRITION

Nutrition is so important.  Not only for your physical health but for your mental health, too.  Studies have shown that increased intake of certain nutrients can help reduce the severity of negative symptoms associated with depression and anxiety.

EPISODE FIVE: ACTIVIST BURNOUT

With today's Women's March totalling more than 2.9 million participants in the US alone, I felt it was important to explore ways to prevent and recover from activist burnout.

EPISODE SIX: EXERCISE

We know exercise is good for our physical health, but what about our mental health?

Science says yes.

In this week's #SelfCareSaturday we are going to explore how exercise can improve mental health and share some tips for getting started.

EPISODE SEVEN: SELF-CARE WHILE TRAVELING

This week's Self-Care Saturday is all about keeping up self-care while traveling, whether for work or on vacation.  How do you maintain your mental health while on the road?

EPISODE EIGHT: MEDITATION

For the final episode of Self-Care Saturday (for now, at least!) I wanted to touch on meditation.  What is it?  How do we do it?  Why is it useful as a form of self-care?

GET THE WORKBOOK!

In an effort to add even more value to this series, I have decided to create a free workbook for you to use as you follow along on your self-care journey.

Fill out the form below to have the workbook sent to your inbox.  No need for a printer, you can fill it out right on your computer!

The workbook is free for a reason - no one should put a price on self-care.  But it has taken me quite a long time to put together, as has this entire series.  If you feel this workbook and series at large has brought value to your life and have a couple of dollars to spare, please consider supporting me on Patreon!

P.S. I'm on this journey too, so the workbook is a work-in-progress!  New sections of the workbook will be released with each video on a biweekly basis.  You will have the new section sent to your inbox automatically!
