...Do You Mind If I Eat This...?

'Hey, do you mind if I eat this?'

As a vegan, you'll hear this a lot.

And I've always found it a bit strange.  Because it's not me you should be asking.

'Hey, do you mind if I eat this?'

As a vegan, you'll hear this a lot.

And I've always found it a bit strange.  Because it's not me you should be asking.

Sure, you ask with good intentions.  You are trying to show that you recognize my ethical stance.

But I can't help but think that if you really respected my views and understood them, you wouldn't even consider eating the corpse of an individual in front of me.

Because many vegans suffer from STSD from the exposure to what non-human animals are being subjected to every single day for the preferences of humans.

But we're surviving.  And we are more than aware that we live in a non-vegan world.

Believe me, you're not the only person I've seen eating meat in the past 4 years.

But perhaps next time you begin to ask this question, you should direct it to the individual you're actually affecting the most.  Something along these lines:

'Hey, individual non-human animal with thoughts, feelings, relationships, and an ability to feel pain - do you mind if I pay to support your ill-treatment and murder so I can eat your flesh?'

It feels a little different, doesn't it.

Just think about it.

Are Colourless Wardrobes Boring?

Matt & Nat is a Canadian company, established in Montreal in 1995.  Their name is from "material and nature" and their motto is "live beautifully”.

They are a committed vegan brand, using zero animal products in their designs.  They work hard to use sustainable and eco-friendly materials - that also happen to be high quality and gorgeous!

I own four pieces from their collection, and today I’m going to talk you through them and give you a peek!

Over the past year of wearing capsule wardrobes, the number of colours I wear has reduced dramatically.  Black, white, and grey?  All represented.  Tan and denim?  There's a sprinkle here and there.  Any other colour?  Nope.

I used to wear a different colour every day.  Sometimes more than one at a time! (Gasp.)

So is it boring to cut colour out of your wardrobe?

Let's chat.
