How I'm Getting Rid of 2018 Things in 2018 #2018MinGame
How am I getting rid of 2018 things in the last couple months of 2018? Using the classic #MinimalismGame format, of course! Let me walk you through how you can do it, too, and give you an update on my minimalism journey so far (3 years in the making)!

What is the 2018 Minimalism Game #2018MinGame Challenge?
Well, the basic premise is that I will be doing my very best to get rid of 2018 items in the remaining few months of 2018.
…
That’s pretty much it.
But HOW are you going to do it?
Ok fine, I’ll elaborate. I’m getting inspiration from The Minimalists and their 30 Day Minimalism Game, the classic month long challenge in which you get rid of one thing on day one, two things on day two, three things on day three, and on and on until you hit day thirty! In the 30 Day Minimalism Game, you get rid of 465 items total (if you make it to the end).
So, I’m just doing the EXTREME version of that same concept. Instead of getting rid of 465 things in 30 days, I will be getting rid of 2018 things by December 31st, 2018 (in approximately 4 months or 122 days).
Now technically I would only need 64 days to complete this challenge using the method set out by The Minimalists on their blog. But I’m trying to be realistic here. Clearly. So I’m doubling my time to ensure success! (This is wishful thinking at it’s finest but just go with it).
This challenge is ridiculous. I fully admit it. BUT when the idea popped into my head I just new I had to try it. To be honest, I don’t know if I even own 2018 things. But I’m going to find out! And I’m going to get rid of a lot of crap along the way. I’ve completed the first 10 days of my challenge so far, and purged 55 items! It feels so refreshing to be actively decluttering again. You can see the first 55 items I decided to part with in this video (skip to 20:18 to start with Day One - no really, that’s actually the time stamp. I couldn’t have planned it better if I tried.)
So join in, if you feel like a challenge, and tag #2018MinGame on social media so I can see how you’re doing! I’ll be updating you on my progress primarily on my Instagram, so follow me there if you haven’t already!
Check out the video I made for my YouTube channel to get a more thorough overview and to see what I decluttered for the first 10 days (totalling 55 items) along with my 3 year minimalism update! Watch the video here on my blog or hop on over to YouTube (and subscribe, while you’re at it! wink wink)
Ok, that's it! Happy decluttering.
Until next time,

Decluttering My Jewellery Collection
Here is the long overdue massive jewellery declutter I've been putting off for ages. Decluttering jewellery is so hard because we tend to develop sentimental attachments to the pieces we own. I'm proud of this first declutter, getting rid of 65% of my jewellery collection, and will revisit my jewellery box in about a year to see what else I can purge!

I decluttered using the KonMari method, keeping those pieces that spark joy and discarding the rest. I started off with more than 200 pieces, which is so ridiculous! I'm glad I took the time to lay everything out and really consider what I was storing in my jewellery box.

What should I declutter next? Let me know in the comments!

Spring Capsule Wardrobe 2017
With the arrival of spring comes a refresh of my capsule wardrobe. Not sure what a capsule wardrobe is? Check out this post for more information on what they are and how to make them! This time around I have included 32 pieces, some of which I may decide to switch out as needed - especially as I'm spending half of the season in Calgary, Alberta and half in Toronto, Ontario... both in Canada, but pretty different as far as the weather goes!

Would you like to see a lookbook using the pieces in my spring capsule wardrobe? Let me know in the comments!
As you can see, I like black. And white. And don't really wear colour. That's my preference, but you DEFINITELY don't have to wear only neutrals to make use of a capsule wardrobe! I've seen a tonne of colourful project 333s and capsules - so you do you! I actually made a video on the topic of colourless wardrobes which you can watch here if you're interested :)
Do you have a capsule wardrobe? What rules do you follow? Let's chat in the comments :)
